About us

We are a group of researchers interested in understanding near-equilibrium and far-from-equilibrium phenomena in complex fluids, and relating them to properties that are of interest to applications. A variety of experimental tools available with us in NCL are used to investigate the microstructure and dynamics of complex fluids. These include scattering (LS and SAXS), rheology, rheo-optics, flow visualization, microscopy, calorimetry and FTIR/NMR spectroscopy. Experimental studies are supplemented with mean-field theory and simulations (meso-scale, e.g. MC, and continuum, e.g., CFD) to further our understanding of complex fluids. We strive to use this knowledge to develop novel materials and innovative products of industrial relevance. The CFPE group, in collaboration with other groups in NCL, also contributes in a major way to projects of national importance.

This website is designed to provide information about our competencies, facilities, current research interests, career opportunities and achievements. Do get in touch with us should you need more specific information about our group and its activities.
